Subject: quick meeting summary

We decided to do a charity auction benefiting seedlings.org, an
organization which provides Braille books to children. The people who are
offering donations are THRILLED with our choice; one of them raved about
how that lines up with what other cons are supporting while still being
different.

We still need a secretary.

We need more people generally, both in the organization and for at-con
volunteering.

Treasure says we basically have the same amount of money as last meeting
(some up, some down, but staying even). I don't have the amount offhand,
but I'm sure he can share that if you're interested.

Insurance looks like it's going to be more expensive than previously
thought, but we're still looking into it.

Department deadline for initial scheduling and hotel layout requests is
September 15.

We don't know if Devra will be available for continuing with vendors' room,
and we're going to let her heal instead of worrying about that. I have
contacted Dan Barnett (of Walt's cards) to see if he's willing to take over
for the time being. If Devra wants the job back, it's hers, but  we will
implement plan B until/unless we hear from her.

Dr. G asked what video services we need, if any, and I'm looking into that.

Art show layout is pending, awaiting some specific measurements of the new
room. Greg offered to go get those.

Tentative September meeting date September 14 at 1pm. We want to encourage
more attendance, so please speak up if that time doesn't work for you and
 you would otherwise come.
