This is the start of the #april-2023-business-meeting channel. February 26, 2023 Herveus | Con Ops 2/26/2023 2:53 PM Next meeting Saturday, 15 April, at 2 pm here in Discord. April 15, 2023 DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 1:34 PM T minus 25 minutes Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 1:36 PM I copy. Moving drinks down to the vicinity of the laptop. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:00 PM Spleen Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:00 PM Pancreas? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:00 PM Amygdala. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 2:01 PM @Herveus | Con Ops Do we have a president? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:02 PM Discord said he was "online" 3 minutes ago but has now gone to idle. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:02 PM We have a president but is the president present? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:02 PM Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:03 PM Yes, we do. There was a bio break up front. Keith Lynch -- 4/15/2023 2:03 PM I'm here. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:04 PM That makes six if I'm counting correctly... Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:04 PM One, two, lots , many, RUN! Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:05 PM My quick take on an agenda: Next meeting date Treasurer Storage clean out Anything else? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:05 PM I have a new business item, can be part of report. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:05 PM Let's get started. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:06 PM [ear] Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:06 PM This meeting satisfies the "once a quarter" requirement. We don't need to meet until July-August-September. Unless, of course something comes up. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:06 PM Do we anticipate needing another meeting this quarter or shall we schedule for Q3? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:07 PM Q3 Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:07 PM From where I set, I think we can look at Q3. That's not my final answer, but it will do for now. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:08 PM OK. Looking at Q3, for Herveus's and my sake NOT DURING PENNSIC (last weekend of July, first two weekends of August are O-U-T out) Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:08 PM I'm thinking Q3, if something comes up, we can always call for a special session. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:09 PM I'd prefer later in August or September. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:09 PM I would suggest not either Labor Day Weekend, or last weekend in September (Capclave this year) DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM Not Sept 9 Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM Later in August I have nothing on my current calendar. Third weekend of September (16-17) is bad for me. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM How aboutAugust 19 or 20? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM Either one work for me. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM Aug 19 or 20 looks OK for me at the moment Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:10 PM Aug 19-20: Weekend after Pennsic, I can probably do online. No guarantees where I'll atually be physically. (Mentally, I'll be exhausted, because it's the weekend after Pennsic.) DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:11 PM So you can relax with a nice calm TSFS meeting Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:11 PM OK. Saturday, 19 August, 2pm, here. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:11 PM Works for me. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:12 PM So let it be written; so let it be done Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:12 PM Channel created. Treasurer - go Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:13 PM Gah, can't read my own notes correctly We have $5536.43 in the various accounts. The outstanding hotel bill currently is $4,107.00. The Go Fund Me has been funded to a total amount of $7178; this includes a recent Grant from DISCON 3 of $2,000. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:15 PM Yay for Discon III Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:16 PM ...and another $500 to the GoFundMe that I dropped two minutes ago. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:16 PM There was also a double ddonation of $200 yesterday from an individual whom I will not name; I've sent a reply aking if the double was a mistake, so $200 of that may have to be refunded. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:17 PM Which is not a huge deal right now, we can swing the refund if we need to DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:17 PM Confused about $ in vs $ out. What's left after the hotel bill is fully paid? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:18 PM So, for the first time since the disaster hit, there is more liquid funds in the account than the outstanding hotel bill. But of course, that's not our only expense. Tomorrow is my day to go over the tax situation, make sure all the ducks are in a row before I file. Herveus: TYVM for the donation Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:18 PM Looks like somewhere in the vicinity of $1400 but might be a bit more come Monday. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:18 PM You bet. I'm now where I could do that. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:18 PM [image of six ducks in a row] Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:19 PM You had some new business? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:20 PM Dr G: assuming a net of $280 from Herveus' donation, that would bring the total of funds to 5816: So, minus hotelwe get roughly $1700. I say $280 due to subtracting fees, and that we would be returning the $200 duplicate donation from yesterday OK, so as far as new business: TSFS is setup as a dues-driven organization. Part of the tax picture is that the State of Maryland does tax us on salesable assets-the few t-shirts that we have. And they inquire as to how the organization in funded in the absence of selling inventory. So, what happens is that when we sell a membership to our convention, what we are legally doing is collecting dues from members: and the right of paying dues is the right to attend the convention we put on every year. This is how s/f associations are run, pretty much across th board. This does, however leave a glaring hole in our structure: what if there's no convention to attend, like this year? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:28 PM Some organizations ask members to pay annual dues separate from their convention memberships: TSFS/Chessiecon has always folded the due into the convention membership. Either one is perfectly fine for the powers what is. But I think that asking people to fork over $45-$60 in the absence of holding a convention is a bit much. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:30 PM I don't think we'd get many, if any, dues payments. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:30 PM Can we count the 4th quarter meeting as a mini online convention and pay a nominal amount to carry things over? Do we have any idea what our annual operating budget will be once the storage room is closed? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:30 PM Therefore, I would like to propose that, in the absence of holding a convention for any given year, the annual dues be set at $20-this number derived from the initial capitalization fee for founding members way back when. Dr G, I'd have to look into the history to be able to answer your second question. I think my proposal might answer your first: is that correct? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:33 PM Indeed. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:33 PM From the February minutes (now available online in the usual place): Ongoing TSFS expenses: $174/month -- storage room $15/year -- Hosting for website, email, etc. $134/year -- Post Office Box Income taxes Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:34 PM And for "annual dues" the would be two points in relation to that: when would be the due date in general, and what should it be set as for 2023? I note that, for the recotd, our Financial year is the calendar year. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:35 PM So right now I suspect somewhere near $200/year in annual expenses once the storage room is out of the picture Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:35 PM Thanks Even, that's exactly the history that wI would have to go through, plus look for anything not included on that list. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:36 PM In a legal sense, it appears we "collect dues" all the way through Sunday morning of the convention, when there's a convention. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:36 PM We have at least 10 folks @ $20 each, so that works. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:37 PM Are you therefore, suggesting a due date of 1 December ? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:39 PM I'm suggesting that, in years that we've held a convention with a registration fee, that's the effective due date we HAVE used. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:39 PM Does anyone see a reason to do otherwise? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:40 PM Sounds like a plan to me. Someone will tells us all the payment mechanism? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:40 PM If Maryland is okay with that -- and it appears they are -- then we might as well go with 1 December as the due date. We still have Square operational (if I can remember the damn password, that's for off-channel) so we could use that Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:42 PM Maryland doens't really care wehn we collect our dues, only what our financial reporting period is, and that we do the reporting. Dr G: dues can be paid by PayPal to payments@chessiecon.org, or by check made out to TSFS, Inc and mailed to the PO Box: TSFS, Inc P O Box 83032, Gaithersburg, MD 20883-3032 . I do check the PO Box irregularly. PayPal, odf course, subtracts a, what is it, 3% fee for their transactions. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:45 PM Square also takes a fee (I think it's 2.5% plus 15 cents per transaction) for credit/debit card. I can send out invoices via Square if anyone wants to use that, and we can also record non-plastic payments on Square. Square does NOT take a fee for payments that are simply recorded. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:47 PM So the fees are about 60 or 65 cents, just make it $21 if you pay through a fee-inducing method. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:47 PM So, then, the Proposal as amended is: In years, when it is possible for TSFS to hold a Chessiecon, the dues to be set by the Chessiecon Con Committee, as usual; In years when TSFS cannot or does not hold a Chessiecon, the dues to be set for $20. Annual Membership dues to be paid by 1 December of the year in question. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:48 PM Second Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:48 PM We have a motion. All in favor say aye. Those opposed say nay. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:49 PM Aye Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:49 PM Aye DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:49 PM [eye] Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:49 PM Aye Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 2:50 PM I'll abstain. I am doubtful of the purpose of an Annual Membership. Who do we expect will pay it? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:51 PM Anyone that thinks it is worthwhile to keep TSFS in existence in case we some day can do another Chessiecon Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:52 PM (which includes the possibility of online conventions) Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:52 PM If we can't muster ten paid members a year, it can be taken as a sign that we are truly done. But we can kick that can down the road a ways. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 2:53 PM Yes. It lets us gauge interest. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:53 PM In any case, the motion has passed. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 2:53 PM I doubt we can put on another Chessiecon or similar event unless me get more people to commit. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:53 PM We'll need to explain this on the web site and work out the payment details. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 2:54 PM Please add website to the new business. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:54 PM You bet. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 2:54 PM Agreed. We need people in order to put on another convention, even online. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:56 PM But if TSFS ceases to exist than we certainly won't. At least this way, there is a possibility, however remote. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:57 PM I think it's time to move to the question of emptying out the storage bin. There's a channel for discussion thereof. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:57 PM [door] Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 2:57 PM Herveus, do you still have the information necessary to get into the unit? Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:58 PM But...so far nothing has been done (which is the expected state given the discussion last meeting). DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 2:58 PM As mentioned in the other channel, I was planning to go there Wednesday 4/19 since I will be in G'burg for a ukulele jam anyway. I need location and access information. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 2:58 PM We can get that to you. Keith Lynch -- 4/15/2023 2:58 PM I can help on the 19th, if given a ride there and back from Merrifield/Vienna. Or on any other day this month except the 22nd, 23rd, and 29th. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:00 PM I would not need additional help on the 19th. Don't know if anyone else planned to be there that day. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:00 PM I am available next Saturday the 22nd, coming down from PA, presumably with my minivan with plenty of cargo space. (Huzzah for seats that fold into the floor!) I am not available on the 23rd due to a memorial service in Annapolis. (For Bruce Evry, founder of EveCon and CastleCon.) Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:01 PM I can plan to be there on the 22nd as well. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:02 PM The only thing I planned to remove on 4/19 is the stanchions to give to BSFS. Are they easy to find? Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:02 PM As I let Herveus know earlier today, my back has been acting up again. I hav ea follow-up with the Ortho-Chick on Thursday to gover the MRI results (I got 2! doen, fortunately on the same visit) I could make a mass meeting on 19 April, but probably to only point and grunt. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:03 PM I had an MRI done yesterday, @Poryshkin | Con Chair . We better not get too close to each other, we might stick from the magnetism Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:03 PM I'm not sure. I was thinking of going over there tomorrow to look things over and to pull out the t-shirts and mugs. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:03 PM I am completely UNavailable on the 19th; I have commitments in PA. Don't let that stop anyone else. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:04 PM No: they're in the back of the storage unit, of course, fairly well buried, as they are among the heaviest of the stuff. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:04 PM What time of day on the 19th? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:04 PM We would get there shortly after 3 or however long it takes to get there fromVictor Litz music center on Diamond. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:04 PM I'll have to see how the day goes with work. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:06 PM 1500 would work for me: my back goes from day-to-day, if it's OK at any given point, I can borrow a vehicle, but if it's acting up at that particular time, I'd need a ride. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:07 PM CubeSmart, 300 Old Game Preserve Rd, Gaithersburg. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:07 PM Looks like that's a 10 minute drive from Victor Litz Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:08 PM Sounds about right DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:09 PM Someone please send me the unit number and necessary access info so I can get in if nobody else is there when we arrive. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:09 PM Working on that right now Send via DM Keith Lynch -- 4/15/2023 3:11 PM I suggest sending an XXL t-shirt to the YouTuber Steve Lehto. He wears donated t-shirts on his channel, which gets hundreds of thousands of views. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:11 PM And he has a great takes on stupid legal system moves! DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:12 PM Info acquired Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:15 PM Poryshkin, will you be available tomorrow afternoon to at least point and grunt at stuff? I can give you a ride if necessary. I'll try to be there Wednesday, and again Saturday. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:16 PM Dr G is planning to get the stanchions for transport to BSFS, and presumably putting everything else that's still there back in the unit. Looks like we can have at least 2 people for Saturday the 22nd, do we want to set a time for that day? (I suggest at or after 2 PM, as I'm coming from outside Allentown PA.) Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:16 PM I was intending on dealing with financial/tax stuff tomorrow; that' s probably an all-day thing. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:16 PM OK. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:16 PM I should be able to do 22 April Wednesday is more iffy for me, but still, maybe. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:17 PM Evan was going to take the pegboard. Was someone interested in the uprights? DrGandalf, were you going to take the screen for BSFS as well? DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:18 PM If you want me to Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:18 PM It's got to go somewhere. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:18 PM OH! Forgot about the screen: when I checked with Meg, she says that she actually bought the thing, money changed hands. Dr G, is that also your membery? memory? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:18 PM I'll take the uprights if nobody else wants them, but I thought someone had expressed interest (possibly offline). Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:18 PM OK. I did not know that. Now I do. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:19 PM I thought I remembered that someone else was going to claim it. Looking at the storage building, we enter through the doors in the center? Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:19 PM Where does the video gaming stuff end up, at least in the short term. yes Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:19 PM That should come back here. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:20 PM That is correct: you need the acccess code both for fron doors,a nd elevator, unit is on the 4th floor, to the right as you exit the elevators. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:20 PM I may see about grabbing at least some of that tomorrow if you don't mind me dropping by with it. I figure anything I can get out of there tomorrow will make Wednesday easier. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:20 PM I have something like 4x7x3.5 room for cargo on the 22nd, so video gaming could wait until then if needed Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:21 PM That would be very helpful Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:21 PM Then that's a plan. I think we have a plan for getting stuff moved out. After next Saturday, we can assess what else needs done. So, unless there is more to be thrashed here and now, I'd like to move on, which means Marilyn and website. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:23 PM You mentioned putting info about the annual dues on "the website". Currently, the website is geared toward Chessiecon info. Domain is chessiecon.org. I suppose I can ask Jo to create a new WordPress instance for the interim. If you think there will be more info to disseminate about TSFS/Chessiecon. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:25 PM I am visualizing a message that Chessiecon is presently dormant, and that to keep the possibility alive, we are setting annual dues at $20 in the absence of a convention. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:25 PM Or I can revert back to HTML files ;-) Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:26 PM If people want to see another Chessiecon, they need to help make it happen. I'm not sure how best to express that. We don't want to be whiny or passive-aggressive. Just honest. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:27 PM Wearing the (Corresponding) Secretary hat, I also imagine the possibility of a TSFS/Chessiecon email list on groups.io -- since this has only really occurred to me just now, I haven't hashed out much in the way of details. Whatever message we send should likely emphasize that 2023 dues are strictly voluntary, and will go towards keeping the PO Box and the website going. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:29 PM I can think of a fun way to express that. Maybe an illustration of Chessie's tail as she dives under water. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:30 PM OK. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:30 PM For a new instance of the website, for a placeholder. I will need to do a little work. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:30 PM I don't see great urgency here. Take the time to make it good. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:31 PM I want to put Chessiecon 2022 home page back to being just a site for that Chessiecon, and move the financial status/distress to the new instance. That will let people see Chessiecon-that-was. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:32 PM I can see your point Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:33 PM I'm good with that. With the new dues structure, we need to make sure that's out there to be seen. And we can explain where we are at and what the future could hold. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:34 PM I can post on Facebook. But I think we only reach about 30 people there. A mailing list blast would get the info to our past members. I'll try to formulate a post and get your comments. Or you can draft the email message and I'll repeat it on FB. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:35 PM There's some minor fiddling with the mail chip list we'd have to do, a couple of people who asked to be removed from that that we never got around to, since it's so seldom used. But that's not a big obstacle, assuming I can dig up that info. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:35 PM We actually have a mailing list? (says the Corresponding Secretary) Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:36 PM Yeah, there's a mail chimp list for announcements. Keith Lynch -- 4/15/2023 3:36 PM If you mean MailChimp, note that lots of people have it blocked as a spam site. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:37 PM (Side note: two straight EAS activations just occurred. I suspect eastern PA has incoming weather. ETA: flash flood warning issued for Lehigh and Northampton counties, i.e. here) Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:38 PM True, but a whole bunch of different people have a bunch of different places blocked; it's just a hazard of widespread electronic communications. And editing the MailChimp list for aobut four people is a whole lot easier than setting up a whole new mailing list. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:38 PM I suspect I'd want to recheck the MailChimp list for email updates. I know of several that have occurred since 2019. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:39 PM One day, ask me about the large number of Zoom Bombers we have to block from WSFA meetings. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:40 PM So, Marilyn will work on rejiggering the website in a deliberate fashion. No haste required at all. 1 Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:40 PM I'll see what I can do about getting the MailChip crap sorted out. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:41 PM We can pass the word via various channels. FaceBook; mailing list. Etc. DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:41 PM Particularly since she has another con to work on for the next month or so 1 Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:42 PM Sounds fair to me. If the revamped website is live by early to mid summer, I think that's just fine. And that's a real soft deadline. Have we addressed the website concerns to your satisfaction, Marilyn? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:42 PM I'll try to get a list of people with email addresses and last-Chessiecon dates from the reg database, if I can. For comparison with the existing MailChimp list with an eye to updating same. @Herveus | Con Ops Sounds fair to me. If the revamped website is live by early to mid summer, I think that's just fine. And that's a real soft deadline. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:43 PM That is doable. For Balticon, I have to updated B57 until the end of May, AND stand up a website for B58 to go live on June 1. 1 Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:44 PM urph. That's a lot on your plate. Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:44 PM So other actions: Poryshkin will poke at the MailChimp list so we can try using it again. Evan will query the registration database to check for updated email addresses. If my "deadline" is too aggressive, that's fine. I'm trusting Marilyn to take the time needed. Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:45 PM Assuming we will use PayPal for dues payment. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:46 PM PayPal is ONE option available. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:47 PM That, or check as alluded to earlier are the easiest way to go, they're already set up. Evan, how does square work, is it easy to deal with if there's no one actively committing a transaction at a registration or fan table? I was always fuzzy on that point. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:49 PM We have not yet set up anything for people to go directly to Square; what they CAN do is contact one of us by email and we tell Square to send out an email invoice, which they then use to pay via Square. Herveus and I are both familiar with this. (edited) Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:50 PM So, a link to president@ ch... or secretary@ch.. would work? Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:51 PM I have no idea where emails to secretary@ch... actually go email to registrations@ch... goes to one of my gmail accounts Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:51 PM Ah, good point Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:52 PM but yes, you have the idea correct Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:52 PM Cool: PayPal, check, or email registrations for an invoice via Square 1 Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:55 PM I think we've covered everything we need to today. I think a motion to adjourn would be appropriate unless there is anything else. Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:55 PM One quick final note from the Secretary: February minutes got put up earlier this week in the usual place: https://www.scadian.net/evan/TSFS/ Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM Yes, thanks to you & Keith! Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM and to Marilyn Yakira - Volunteers and Vendors -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM I'm here. Kinda. Just read everything. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM I'll move to adjourn Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM Second Herveus | Con Ops -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM All in favor harumph Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM harumph! Yakira - Volunteers and Vendors -- 4/15/2023 3:56 PM Timing..... 1 Marilyn Mix | Website -- 4/15/2023 3:57 PM harumph DrGandalf -- 4/15/2023 3:57 PM Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaarumph Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:57 PM Harumph! Dave/Evan(damont) | Registration -- 4/15/2023 3:58 PM Reminder to folks that we have empty-out-the-storage-bin for discussion of logistics and such w/r/t all that. Hope to see some of you next Saturday. Poryshkin | Con Chair -- 4/15/2023 4:20 PM OH, somethign I forgot to mention.
