Lynch, Vice President Date: April 21, 2024, 2 pm Location: TSFS Discord Channel #april-2024-business-meeting Attendees: Patty Daukantas Eric Fleisher (Dr. Gandalf) Sam Hogan (Poryshkin), Treasurer Michael Houghton (Herveus), President Keith Lynch, Vice President Marilyn Mix Dave Mounturi, Secretary Agenda: Next meeting Moment of appreciation for the falling of the Red Baron [4/21/1918] Nomination for Vice President Treasurer Report Website Registration Other reports as needed Disposition of T-shirts and mugs Next meeting: Sunday, August 18th Called to order: 1405 EDT Keith Lynch was elected vice president. Treasurer report: We have $2372.07 in the various accounts. Still lingering tax status issues. Discussion: Sam said he talked to Gary E, who is heading up Filking at Balticon, to see what Chessiecon could do to sponsor someone for filking at Balticon. Unfortunately, they weren't able to get anything to work. Sam is doing that position for Capclave, and trying to see how it might be able to work there. He asked if anyone thinks it's worthwhile to see if we can have some mention of Chessiecon/TSFS at the WSFA/Capclave table at the Gaithersburg Book Festival. Michael said the boxes of t-shirts and mugs are taking up closet space in Patricia's living space. Dave said there's room in his shed for them. Michael said two boxes of mugs are already in the shed. Keith suggested sending an XXL t-shirt to Steve Lehto so he will wear it on his YouTube channel. [Lehto's Law / P.O. Box 168 / Atlas MI 48411.] Sam and Dave said that's a good idea. Michael said he could send one there. Marilyn asked if it would it be worthwhile to get a dealer table at Capclave and get rid of the T shirts and mugs while they still have sentimental value. Sam said not the mugs, please, that will cause tax weirdness, since they've never been listed as saleable merchandise. Keith said he has some space available at the Merrifield CubeSmart. Not a lot. But it is climate controlled, mostly. Michael said he will inventory the t-shirts. Marilyn said no changes have been made to the website. She said she would update the website and post on social media with the info for the next meeting. Marilyn suggested selling all the shirts to a vendor to re-sell. Registration: Dave says he hasn't yet entered supporting memberships into Square. He'll do so before the next meeting. He proposed an action item for Michael and himself, to work out S+H fees for the T-shirts, and add them to Square as appropriate. The meeting was adjourned at 1520 EDT.
